Setup QAWizard

Wizard is the SimplifyQA Agent which is required to use any automation features in SimplifyQA.

In this section, we’ll guide you through how to setup and install Wizard and start automating.

Download the Wizard

  • Navigate to Downloads: Locate your profile once you login to SimplifyQA. Navigate to Manage Accounts -> Downloads

  • Download the Wizard: Choose the appropriate OS and download the latest version of Wizard. To view previous versions, refer to the help doc.

Install the Wizard

  • Install Wizard: Run the Wizard by double clicking on the file which is downloaded, SimplifyQA.exe in Windows and SimplifyQA.dmg in MAC.

  • Provide the Token: Navigate to SimplifyQA and go to Profile -> Manage Accounts -> Security. Copy the token for Machine Registration and provide this token in the Wizard which is prompting for token.

  • Install Packages: Choose the package you want to use and click on ‘Install Packages’. Note that the list of packages are displayed based on the licenses subscribed.

  • Verification: Navigate to SimplifyQA and verify for the agent icon to be turned green.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wizard is not getting installed in my system, Why?

Ensure that your machine has right permissions to install any external software’s. If the organization policies are blocking external software’s from installing, you may have to contact your administrator to get SimplifyQA Wizard whitelisted.

Why doesn’t the agent icon in SimplifyQA turn green?

a. Ensure SimplifyQA Wizard is running in your machine. If not turn on the Wizard from either browser or from the location of the Wizard.

b. Verify the SimplifyQA logs to ensure that there were no errors while installing the packages. If any errors were encountered, try un-installing the agent and install again.

c. Ensure to provide the correct during the installation. If the token is incorrect or expired, wizard wouldn't start and turn green in SimplifyQA.

Why am I not able to install the packages?

a. Check if the agent is already running. If it is already running go to Wizard icon in system tray and select ‘Stop’ option (do not select ‘Exit’ option). Now navigate to Package manager and retry ‘Install Packages’

b. Make sure you have uninstalled the previous version before installing the new version.

c. If none of the above is working, try re-installing the wizard else reach out to SimplifyQA support team.

Why can't I find the Android package option in the Wizard?

You might not have the necessary licenses for Android automation, which is why the Android package option isn't visible. Please reach out to SimplifyQA sales to obtain the licenses. If you have acquired the licenses but still don’t see the option, please contact the support team.
