Viewing SimplifyQA Test Cases in Jira allows users to seamlessly access and track test cases created in SimplifyQA directly within Jira. This integration enhances traceability, enabling teams to link test cases to Jira issues, monitor test execution status, and ensure comprehensive test coverage within their workflow.

Before proceeding, ensure that -

  1. The Jira account is properly configured and integrated with SimplifyQA.

Refer to the provided link for

  1. A user story is created in SimplifyQA, and your test cases are mapped to it.

How to configure the SimplifyQA plugin in Jira?

  1. Create a User Story in SimplifyQA

  • Navigate to Requirement Management in SimplifyQA from the left panel.

  • Click on “+Create”, select “Create User Story”.

  • Fill out the mandatory details like User Story name, acceptance criteria etc.

  • Once the user story is created, create a test case and associate it with the respective user story.

  1. Log in to Jira

  1. Select the Project

  • After logging in, navigate to the Project Dropdown.

  • Select the project you are working on.

  1. Access the Board

  • Click on Board from the navigation menu.

  • All the user stories created in SimplifyQA will be reflected here, select the respective user story to view the test cases by clicking on User story card.

  1. Open the SimplifyQA Test Cases Plugin

  • Click on Apps in the top menu.

  • Select Plugin - Test Cases for SimplifyQA.

  1. Log in to the Plugin

  • Login page for SimplifyQA will appear.

  • Enter your SimplifyQA credentials.

  • Click on Sign In.

  • After logging in, the test cases associated with the user story will be displayed.

  1. View Execution IDs and Results

  • Click on the accordion next to the test case to see the Execution IDs.

  • Select an Execution ID to view detailed test execution results in SimplifyQA.

  • Clicking on an Execution ID will redirect you to the SimplifyQA page, where you can view the detailed execution results.

Jira integration with SimplifyQA.
