Cards are the building blocks of your Kanban board, representing individual tasks or work items. This section will guide you on how to effectively utilise cards to manage your workflow.
You will come across boards and cards in most of the modules in the tool. For Example, Below is the skeleton of a task card.
You will be seeing, Task ID, Status, Sprint Name, Task Name, Start Data & End Date. If any of the work item is overdue, then you will be seeing overdue details on the card.
On hover of the card, you'll be having below options:
Assign: Allows you to choose the desired members from the list users and assign the task to a person who is responsible for completing the task.
Add Comments: Allows you to leave notes, ask questions, or provide feedback directly on specific parts of the work.
Copy Link: Quickly share content by copying its unique link. A single click copies the link to your clipboard, ready to be pasted wherever you need.
Drag and drop is a core feature of Kanban boards, allowing for intuitive and efficient workflow management.
Select a card: Click and hold on the card you want to move.
Drag the card: Move the mouse while holding the card to your desired column.
Drop the card: Release the mouse to place the card in the new column.
Cards typically flow from left to right across your board, representing progress through your workflow.
Forward Movement: Easily drag and drop cards to the next column as work progresses.
Backward Movement: While generally discouraged to maintain workflow clarity, there might be instances where a card needs to move backward. In such cases, provide a clear explanation in the card's comments section about the reason for the backstep.
Visual feedback: Pay attention to visual cues, such as highlighted drop zones while using drag and drop, to guide your card placement.
Keep Cards Up-to-Date: Regularly update card information to reflect the current status, effort burnt, etc.
Visual Cues: Utilise card colors, sizes, or icons to quickly identify card types or priorities.
